Some animals work without questioning (bees, ants). It is literally hardwired into their genome to be a worker, soldier or chaperon. Some Homo Sapiens too it seems.
I once heard an exotic bird in a cage singing at a latitude where it was certain to have no mates. Yet still, it sang. Whether it was a mating call or something else, it didn’t stop, as though someone might answer. What I learn from this? Act according to your nature, anywhere.
